Corporate Catering Sales Manager in San Mateo, CA
Immediate opening for an energetic and knowledgeable Corporate Catering Sales Manager to sell 24,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space along with some sleeping rooms.
As the Corporate Sales Manager you will be responsible for the implementation of the catering sales effort of the hotel, including securing and maintaining new and existing accounts along with the execution of sales and marketing strategies to maximize the profitability of the hotel while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future business.
- Daily activities including maintenance and servicing of business, solicitation calls, entertainment, and site inspections.
- Respond to sales leads inquiries from potential clients and customers seeking sleeping rooms, meeting space, food and beverage services, etc.
- Initiate new sales, prospects and qualify leads and solicit potential clients.
- Host and entertain client and maintain client accounts.
- Conduct property site visits and answer questions.
- Determine rates, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, service accounts and analyze lost business for the hotel.
- Partner with operations departments to ensure full participation in servicing accounts.
- Document all correspondence with clients into the sales system, Delphi. Closely following up on all day-to-day business needs with clients and hotel personnel.
- Create and maintain a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
- Stay up on marketing trends and develop strategies to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager or Director of Sales
- Operate graciously under pressure.
- Candidates should be extremely detail-oriented, possess exemplary customer service skills, be an effective communicator and be able to handle a fast-paced environment.
- Meet or exceed set goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of the hotel property management systems (Delphi.fdc)
- Relevant degree, in business development or other relevant business field, from an academic institution (CMP, CPCE)
- Customer service experience
- Hotel/hospitality or relevant experience
